She can produce a pink, cancer fighting, clean radiation from her hands and eyes, but there is still no cure. She has the ability to sense cancer cells in living organisms. Origin: Ana Maria is a breast cancer survivor. Her cancer was removed with a lumpectomy. Later she received local radiation. Sometime after, she and another scientist began working on a special medical device to fight the disease. A descendant of Dr. Vasquez from the future ventured into the past to warn her of a villain's plot to steal the cancer fighting machine. The villain, who is also from the future, wanted the device in order that he have sole control over the technology. Ana Maria attempted to stop the villain and in the process the machine was destroyed causing a small explosion. Dr. Vasquez was immersed in energy released from the explosion due to her close proximity to the machine. This special energy is what endowed Dr. Vasquez with her extraordinary powers. |
